What is the difference between Eyebrow Henna, Brow Dye and Classic Tint?"Brow tint uses a similar semi-permanent that Hair Stylists use. The tint is mixed with peroxide and then applied to the brows for 1-5 minutes and lasts on the hair for 2-4 weeks. Brow Henna is a specially formulated Henna mixture made specifically for eyebrows. The powder which is 99% natural/ plant based, is mixed with distilled water and then applied to the brows for 10-20 minutes and lasts on the hair for 4-6 weeks. Brow Dye is a more permanant version of classic brow tint with the added effect of also staining the skin beneath the hair. Brow dye can range from light brown, to very dark brown. With more colour variations, we can create a soft natural looking brow, or dark, defined and bold look. It lasts 4-7 weeks on the hair. If you have very light eyebrows, or do not normally wear a lot of brow makeup, we recommend starting with Brow Tinting, Brow Dye (in a ligher colour) or Henna Tinting (only dyes the hair, not the skin) as Brow Henna & Design is a defined look. If you are used to a more filled-in and defined brow, are looking for a longer lasting solution, have stubborn grey brow hairs, or are looking to camouflage gaps or sparse brow hair, we recommend booking a Brow Henna Design or Brow Dye & Design service .
-
What is Brow Henna?Brow henna is a product based on Indian henna. Colour pigments have been added to give the henna a beautiful light to dark brown color. Because if you work with pure henna, you will eventually get a reddish print on the skin. That is, for example, the result with traditional henna decorations in many Eastern countries. In addition, the colour pigments ensure that the henna draws into the skin more quickly. So you do not have to wait for hours, as is the case with pure henna. I use a product called Supercilium Brow Henna which comes in the form of powder and it is mixed with a purified rose water.
-
How do I know which brow services to book?If you are someone who does not normally wear any brow cosmetics (or very little) and prefers a more subtle look to your brows, then start with the Eyebrow Tint. You can choose from Standard Brow Tinting which involves using a semi-permanet eyebrow dye, done in a simiar way to how we dye the hair on our head. Or you can choose Henna Tint, which is plant based and will stain your eyebrows using a henna product designed for eyebrows. Henna tends to last a bit longer on the hair than standard tints. With both these tinting options, we aim to only tint the hair to create a soft but fuller look by tinting even those super light brow hairs. The skin underneath the hair may be stained lightly but will wash away in a day or so. If you are accustomed to a very defined and filled in eyebrow and like a more rich color, go with the Henna Brow Design as it will stain your skin under the eyebrows as well as the hair. It will generally last on the skin for 2 to 14 days and 4-6 weeks on the hair.
-
Can Henna be used on the lashes as well? No, Henna is not safe or suitable for lashes. But fret not, I have awesome tint and lash dye options for that!
-
How do I help with the longevity of my brow tint or Brow Henna? The most important factor in extending the longevity of brow tint and Brow Henna is to not get the brow area wet for 24 hours after application. You will want to go easy with your eyebrows when cleansing to extend the life of the stain on the skin in particular. Obviously, if you scrub, peel etc at that area, the stain behind the brow is going to disappear much faster. Also exercise caution when applying any type of skin care products containing exfoliators (topical acne medications, retinol, lightening products, alpha hydroxy acids, etc) Keep all of these away from the brows as they will strip them of their colour. Sun and UV rays can lighten the skin and hair meaning they may fade faster.
-
If I want Henna, does it matter whether I book Eyebrow Tint or Eyebrow Henna?"Yes, it DOES matter. In terms of length of service, these are not interchangeable. The Henna Brow Design service takes a fair bit longer due to mapping of your eyebrows and henna processing time. So please be sure to select the correct item when booking online. Henna Tinting and standard Eyebrow Tinting aim to only tint the hair, not the skin so both take less time to process than the full Henna Brow Design which will stain your skin for a defined look.
-
How long does Henna, Dye and Tint Last?"HENNA BROW DESIGN: Your skin regenerates daily, so it is always difficult to say how long a henna skin stain is going to last on a certain skin type in the brow area as our skin varies from individual. Some clients have oily skin and some clients have dry skin and these conditions can affect the longevity of the skin stain and make the skin more resistant to staining. The stain results around your brow hair can last anywhere from 2 – 10 days on the skin, using darker colours will give a more powerful and long lasting skin stain. The brow hair stain can last 3-6 weeks. BROW DYE & DESIGN: Similar to henna; as your skin regenerates daily, it is always difficult to say how long dye is going to last on a certain skin type in the brow area as our skin varies from individual. The stain results around your brow hair can last anywhere from 3 – 14 days on the skin, using darker colours will give a more powerful and long lasting skin stain. The brow hair stain can last 3-7 weeks. CLASSIC TINT & HENNA TINT: Tinting will last anywhere from 2-4 weeks on the hair, usualy a longer effect from henna. The length of time that your tinting will last depends on your lifestyle, skin care products, and skin type. The more often you wash your face, the faster the tinting can fade. Other things like sun exposure and harsh skincare products also reduce the time that your tint can last.Tinting generally only tints the brow hair, however we are able to leave the tint on longer to tint the underlying skin as well. Note: tint on the skin generally only lasts 1-3 days post-appointment.The tint will cover grey hairs, but it should be noted that often grey hair is more resistant to tinting than other hair types.
-
How does tinting work?Tinting is similar to dying your hair. We carefully select and mix a perfect tint for each client and develop the dye with peroxide before applying. We have multiple shades available. I will stay with you the entire time your tint is processing (1-5 minutes), watching the colour develop to be sure it does not become too dark. Our process involves removing the colour and re-applying until the perfect shade has developed. No risk leaving with jet-black eyebrows here!
-
Do you have different shades of tint?We have several different tint colours and all tints can be left on the brows for various amounts of time to achieve the perfect shade for you. The longer the tint stays on, the darker it will become and the longer it can last on the underlying skin.
-
What is involved in a Brow Henna Design & Wax Appointment? The Henna Brow Design & Wax process is generally quick and easy, with the full treatment taking around an hour to complete. Your eyebrows are mapped and designed to suites your face and is your preferred shape using a combination of shaping techniques, before a suitable shade of henna is chosen. Our henna can be custom blended to create a perfect colour match for your skin tone / desired look. Henna powder and demineralised water are mixed together to create a paste, which is then applied through the shape of your eyebrows and allowed to soak into the skin for 10 to 20 minutes. The henna is removed and your eyebrows are waxed and trimmed to perfection. For a Henna Tint: The henna is applied to the eyebrow hair for a much shorter period of time with the aim to only tint/dye the eyebrow hair. The skin may be stained temporarily for a day or so. Henna is a natural alternative to standard tinting as it is plant based. It also tends to last longer on the hair than regular tint. Here is a article about Henna Brows from Vogue: https://www.vogue.com.au/beauty/trends/i-tried-henna-brows-and-this-is-what-happened/news-story/19c9d4df056288d117716abccc35b230

What is Brow Lamination... aka Brow Lift?Brow Lamination is also known as a Brow Lift, Fluffy Brows or Brow Perm. Brow lamination is the hottest new trend in the quest for bigger, neater and/ or fuller looking brows. This is the perfect solution for eyebrows that do not have symmetry or where the hairs follow a different pattern. With Lamination, we can realign the brows to give them the desired shape you want or a 'Fluffy', fuller look This treatmemt solves the messy brow issue, creates volume and fullnesss and gives you a sleek, well-kept brow shape for up to 8 weeks. We recommend booking a brow shape/ wax at the same time. A Brow Lift can dramatically enhance the shape of your eyebrows, helping you to achieve your dream brows. From an extreme brushed up look to a sleek and neat (and everything in between), your brows will appear fuller in an instant using your existing brow hair, making it a great microblading alternative. In order to achieve this lift, brow lamination relaxes and reforms the hairs, which also makes them easier to manipulate in to your desired position - another bonus if you have unruly hairs! Your morning beauty routine just got a whole lot quicker.
-
Who is an Ideal candidate?Brow lamination works for most eyebrow shapes and styles, from full to sparse, so is ideal for anyone looking to improve the overall look of their brows. Whether you desires a full and fluffy look or a sleek tame brow, we can achieve it in a matter of minutes,
-
Who should NOT get a Brow Lift?Contraindications for Brow Lamination/ Lift include: - Pregnant/ breastfeeding (this has not been tested on Pregnancy Woman) - Skin condition, trauma, abrasions or burns in the brow area - Eye Infection or Inflammation - Hypersensitive Skin or Eyes - Recent Permanent Make up (must be healed by 6 weeks) - Blood Thinners - Herpes Simplex
-
How long does a Brow Lamination Appointment Take?A Brow Lift can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour 30, depending on if you choose a Brow Shape and/ or tint with your Brow Lift. During this time, a Consent form is completed and a Consultation will be done so we can choose the best Brow Look for you. You can then lay back and relax while I beautify your brows.
-
How Long do Brow Lamination Results Last?Brow Lamination results will vary from client to client but in most cases last upwards to 8 weeks. Once the brow hairs have completed their growth cycle, clients can repeat the procedure again. We recommend waiting 8-12 weeks in between lamination appointments.
-
Should I get an Eyebrow Wax and Tint with my Brow Lift?To really achieve lovely shaped brows, a Brow Wax/ Shape is recommended. Additionally, if you have medium to light brow hairs, a tint can work wonders to create fullness and shape by darkening those hidden light and fine brow hairs. Tint varies from light brown, to chestnut, or even dark brown. Brow Henna is also available and is a plant based, natural alternative to traditional tint. Henna usually lasts longer on the hair, up to 6 weeks and can stain the skin for up to 14 days which creates a filled/ defined look. This needs to be done at least 3 days after the Brow Lamination as the Henna can be affected by the Brow Lamination product.
-
Does Brow Lamination Involve adding in Hairs? Not at all - there’s no eyebrow extensions or permanent make up involved. The treatment uses entirely your own brow hair. It’s the eyebrow repositioning and shape correction that gives a fuller appearance.
-
Can I have a Brow Lift if I have Microblading / Permanent Brow Make-up?Yes! If there is some brow hair where the Microblading/ shaping is present, then a Brow lift will look great. If you recently had microblading/ permanent make up, please wait until the brow skin is fully healed, up to 6 weeks before a brow lamination treatment.
-
What aftercare is required? The aftercare is very simple when it comes to Brow Lamination. The most important points to remember are: - Do not wet your eyebrows for 24-48 hours - Avoid touching the brow area at the risk of transferring oils - Do not apply makeup to the brows for 24 hours post-treatment - Do not apply Retin A, aha or exfoliate the brow area for 72 hours before or after the treatment - No self-tanner products should be used on the face for at least 48 hours post-treatment, and at least 1 week pre-treatment - Apply a lash/brow conditioner, or hydrating oil such as coconut or caster oil daily. (we suggest before bed, but for those wearing eyelash extensions, please apply the conditioner (no oil!) in the morning) - Comb the hairs into place each day, preferably while still wet. - Avoid roughly scrubbing or rubbing brow area.
-
What is a Lash Lift & TintA lash lift is a chemical process that is used to change the structure and texture of the lashes. Depending on the size of the shield used, the lashes can be lifted more or less dramatically. A lash lift is essentially a modern version of a lash perm without the perming rods. Eyelash tint is a form of hair dye developed for specific use on the eyelashes. Eyelash tinting produces a similar effect to mascara. It visibly lengthens, darkens and thickens the appearance of eyelashes without smudging, clotting or rubbing off.
-
How long does the tint and lift process take?Between 45 minutes and 1 hour 15 minutes depends on how long and coarse the eyelashes are and if your lashes will be tinted.
-
How long does the tint and lift last ?A lash lift and tint can last anywhere between 6 to 8 weeks. Results may vary from client to client depending their lash growth cycle. There are some situations that may cause the lift to drop/weaken prematurely such as swimming, use off harsh products or heat. If you find that your lift does not last the full 2 months, you can repeat the treatment after a minimum of 4 weeks of having the initial treatment, but not before.

What are 24K Glaze & Keratin Sealant Treatments?𝟐𝟒 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭 𝐆𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐞 is a 𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙘𝙠𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙡 made of Vitamin E, Ceramides, Hyaluronic Acid, Peptides, and of course, 24K Gold! It instantly restores and nourishes the lashes, so they’re plump and soft immediately after a Lash Lift! This add on treatment will be applied after your lash lift. You will be obsessed with how luxurious this treatment is - who doesn’t love a little sparkle?! A Keratin infuse finishing lotion is used after the 24K Glaze (or stand alone) to lock in all the goodness and also add protein to the lashes resulting in strong, healthy and happy lashes. The Keratin treatment will help strengthen the eyelash hairs to prevent future breakage. It is similar to having a Hair Treatment such as Oplex at a hair salon, but for your lashes. A must for regular Lash Lift clients or those who naturally have weak, dry or damaged lashes. In addition to these amazing post Lash Lift Treatments, at Flutter Eyes, all clients get a complimentary prep and protect solution applied to their eyelashes to help keep them soft, strong, healthy and beautifully lifted.
-
Can I wear mascara & use eyelash curlers? It is advised that you leave your lashes untouched for at least 24 hours after your treatment. You may find that there is no need for mascara anyway, but if you wish to make your lashes even fuller, a non-waterproof mascara is advised as the removal of waterproof mascaras can be harsh on the lashes and weaken the lift. Flutter Eyes also stocks a great Collagen & Argon Oil infused Revive Mascara which will not only make your lash lift look even better, but will also help keep your lashes hydrated and soft which can extend the lift of a Lash Lift. There will be no need for an eyelash curler as this treatment gives a much better result than using a curler. But more importantly, using one may weaken & damage your lashes, even if they are not permed.
-
Will a lash perm & tint damage my lashes? No. Properly trained and skilled professionals ensure proper lash lift procedures are followed to avoid lash damage.
-
What should I know before my appointment? Please throughly wash your eyelashes just before your appointment to ensure your eyelashes and entire eye area are super clean and free of mascara, make up and lotions. Any make up or oils can affect the lift. Please always remove your contact lenses before any eyelash service. You can put them back in after the service. Using a lash growth serum such as EyEnvy® is recommended 3 to 4 weeks before your appointment to enhance the lash lift as it will make your natural lashes grow longer and thicker. You can purchase this from Flutter Eyes at any time, while stocks last.

Why wax in the first place?Waxing is one of the best ways to temporarily remove unwanted hair. It is more effective than shaving because it removes hair from the roots, not just from the skin’s surface. If waxed regularly over time, hair in waxed areas regrows lighter and sparser. For facial waxing, removal of unwanted facial hair allows for a more youthful look and application of makeup goes on smoother and better. Brow shaping can really open up the eyes and a great shape can dramatically change your appearance.
-
How long will results last? After a client’s first waxing, the results can last 2 - 6 weeks depending on the individual’s hair re-growth. In most cases, hair growth is minimal during the first week or two and noticeably increases in the third and fourth week. With regular waxing, the length of time between treatments will increase.
-
Will my hair grow back thicker? No. Regular and continued waxing usually results in sparser and finer hair re-growth.
-
Are there any health precautions to keep in mind?VERY IMPORTANT: - Accutane Patients: AVOID all waxing while on Accutane and for a minimum of 12 months after coming off the medication or consult your dermatologist about when to proceed. - Some physicians do not recommend waxing for persons suffering from diabetes or who have varicose veins or poor circulation as they are more susceptible to infection. - Facial waxing is not recommended for clients currently using Retin A, Renova, Differin or other types of skin thinning acne medications. Please read the label carefully and consult your dermatologist if you are taking any medication or using any topical cream that contains these medications or stop for 7 days prior to waxing. - Individuals do react differently to these medications and sometimes waxing can be done if proper patch testing is completed. - Please be completely honest with your Skin Care Therapist about all allergies and medications you are taking - it is for your protection.
-
What are the possible side effects of waxing and how can they be minimized?Although we can not predict or guarantee who may react, most clients do not experience reactions beyond redness and minor irritation. Hair may break at the root during waxing, causing some hairs to grow out faster. Please follow these guidelines to minimize irritation and possible breakouts. - Treat skin gently afterwards - no sun exposure, abrasives or exfoliation for 24-48 hrs. on the area. Wear sun screen; recently waxed areas are prone to hyperpigmentation (permanent darkening of the skin) if exposed to the sun. - Avoid saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools and other heated sources for at least 48 hours. - Do not use exfoliating products (AHAs, scrubs, etc) and loofahs until at least 24 hours after waxing the area. - Regular exfoliation may be helpful for those prone to ingrown hairs on the body. - Routine waxing helps the skin get accustomed to the procedure and may minimize irritation. Sunburned, irritated or thin skin areas should not be waxed.
-
What type of wax products are used?Only the best and most gentle waxes are used for all our waxing procedures.

What are Classic, Hybrid, Volume and Mega Volume Eyelash Extensions?"Eyelash extensions come in a variety of fibres, the most common these days being a “Faux Mink” due to it being the softest and most natural feeling. Classic Eyelash Extensions involve the process of carefully applying a single extension to a single isolated natural healthy eyelash at approximately half a millimetre away from the eyelid skin. A typical full set of Classic lashes can vary from having 80 extensions up to 150 extensions per eye depending on the desired look and how many natural healthy lashes there are to begin with. These look great on clients with a lot of natural eyelashes. It can take between 1 hour 45 and 2 hours 30 minutes to apply. Volume extensions involve applying 3-6 fine lash extension (fans) to one isolated natural eyelash. A volume set is designed for you, to create fuller, darker and soft looking lashes. They look can be from glamours to natural, depending on your desire. I use high quality pre-made heat bonded and pre-hand made fans to ensure your natural eyelshes stay happy and healthy. They usually look fuller for longer due the volume of the fans applied. It can take between 2 hours 15 minues and 3 hours to apply, depending on how many natural lashes you have and the style you desire. Hybrid Extensions are a mix of volume and classic lash extensions. The look of a Hybrid set is fuller, softer and more textured than Classic. Perfect if you want more coverage, yet with a natural to light glamorous look, as they are designed for you. It can take between 2 hours and 2 hours 45 minutes to apply, depending on how many natural lashes you have and the style you desire. Mega Volume is simiar to Volume, but with a fuller and softer look as 6-12 much finer lashes are applied to one natural eyelashes to create a dense, dark and fluffy look. They are a lot finer and therefore lighter than classic eyelash extensions. With various lengths, dimensions and curls avaliable, a custom set can be created for you, from extra glam to everyday fluff, depending on your desire. If you have fine lashes, this will work magic to create full lashes without comprimsing the health of your natural eyelashes. It usually takes 2 hours 30 to 3 hours to apply a new set. As Mega Volume is dense, they usually look fuller for longer.
-
What are Bottom Eyelash Extensions?Unless you naturally have long, thick, full lower eyelashes, bottom lash extensions are something you should consider if you want to look truly stunning. Bottom lash extensions are applied in a similar manner as upper lash extensions. The tops lashes are gently pulled back with a soft eyepad and your eyes will be closed during application. Bottom lash extensions are much shorter, thinner, and less noticeable than upper lashes. The application time is much faster than upper lashes as there are less applied so is a great add on service. The definition provided by bottom lashes will help open your eyes, making your eyes appear bigger without being over the top. You’ll be surprised at seeing how just adding a few lower lashes greatly changes how the eye appears. Bottom lashes can even make the face look slimmer! Best of all, no longer needing mascara on those bottom lashes!! This a huge plus for bride clients or any other special occasion when there’s the possibility of any of kind of water works, no raccoon eyes! Since the natural lower lashes are usually thinner and shorter than the upper lashes, the durability of maintaining the extensions decreases. Additionaly, because there are fewer lashes applied, clients may only get a week or two of wear. Most people are able to receive bottom lash extensions, but there are some exceptions. For instance, if your lashes are particularly short or sparse, bottom lashes will emphasize the deficiency, leading to poor results.
-
How long will my eyelash extensions last?Lash extensions will fall out with your natural lashes. Your natural eyelashes individually fall off every 45 - 60 days due to the natural growth cycle and are replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. Other factors such as exposure to steam, oils or touching your eyes a lot may cause the extensions to fall sooner. Therefore, your extensions will usually last between 4 to 8 weeks, but you will want to get infills every 2 to 3 weeks to keep them looking full. Everyone has different shedding cycles so this will be based on you. To be considered for an infill, you will need to have 25% or more of your extensions remaining. If you wait too long, your extensions will fall out and a full set will be required. At Flutter Eyes, during an infill, grown out extensions are removed and replaced with fresh ones, so you always leave with a nice fresh set. Note: Proper aftercare & cleaning will help keep your natural eyelashes healthy and improve the retention of your extensions.
-
Can I get my lashes wet, use a sauna or the gym?"Yes, you can get them wet after 5 minutes of application due to the fast curing adhesive, as well as the Anti-allergy gel and Accelerator liquid that Flutter Eyes uses. It is best to avoid the steam room/sauna, washing face with very hot water, tanning bed, or hot yoga for the first 5 hours. After this period, you will have no issues and your lashes will be life ready. If you have sensitivities to the adhesive, it is recommended to gently wash your eye area, including your lash line and entire eye area after application. This has been proven to reduce the chances of an allergic reaction. Flutter Eyes offers Lash Baths for $5, and you get to take home the cute cleansing brush. Notify me if you would like a Lash Bath. Note: Allergic reactions are rare but can happen instantly or over time (days or months of wearing extensions). This is why it is always best to wash the eye area with water or Lash Foam Cleanser & warm water after application as it washes away the adhesive vapours that land on the skin during an appointment.
-
Can I wear mascara? It is best to avoid regular mascara on your eyelash extensions. Mascara will cause your extensions to come off 50% faster. If you feel the need for mascara with your Classic Eyelash Extensions or on your bottom eyelashes, please buy a mascara designed for eyelash extensions and always wash it off before you go to bed. These special mascara wash off with warm water and will not jeopardize the bond between the natural lash and extension. However, using a mascara with Hybrid or Volume Eyelash Extensions is best avoided as it will close the fans and not look as full. Regular mascara will damage hybrid and volume extensions meaning they will need a full removal as infills will not be possible. Do not use a curler on your lashes, as it will damage the extensions. Water proof eyeliner can also affect your extensions as it will sit in your lash line. Non-waterproof eyeliner can be used but may affect your extension retention.
-
Do eyelash extensions damage my natural lash?If eyelash extensions are applied correctly, and the after care instruction followed, your eyelash extensions should not damage your natural lahses. Always avoid tugging or pulling on your lashes to prevent them from prematurely falling out. Note: Using Mascara and/or an eyelash curler daily can be damaing to your natural eyelashes. Extensions are a great alternative for damage free lashes.
-
How do I choose the eyelash style? We will discuss your style preference during your appointment. Lash extensions come in different lengths, thicknesses and curl shapes. I will also inspect your lashes to advise you of what extensions would be most suited to you.
-
What should I know before my appointment? Please thoroughly wash your lashes within 30 minutes of your appointment, or when you arrive to ensure your eyelashes are super clean especially at the root and free of mascara, make up, lotions and natural oils. Any residue will prevent proper bond of the glue between the natural lash and extension. It is recommended that you do not wear mascara for 2-3 days before your first appointment as it can be difficult to throughly remove. Always remove your contact lenses before any eyelash service and please bring your eyeglasses to help determine your maximum lash length. If your eyelashes are not squeeky clean at the lash line when you arrive, a Lash Bath can be done during appointment before we start. A cleansing brush is used with Lash Foam Cleanser to get all the layers of your lashes clean from root to tip. This costs $5 and you get to take the cute cleansing brush home with you.
